Secret Weapons
of the Nazis

• Yank Magazine, 1945 •

World War II was good and over by the time the U.S. Army Ordnance Department began to nose around all the assorted ÜBER-secret weapons that the Germans were never able to perfect.

One of the most striking aspects of this article is the part when you recognize that it was these Nazi eggheads who first conceived of such space-based armaments as the "Star Wars" technology that was ushered in during the Reagan presidency (i.e.: "Strategic Defense Initiative"). While in pursuit of their evil ends, these same scientists also conceived of solar-powered weaponry.

The Germans were also experimenting with wire-guided rockets (such as the TOW anti-tank missile, that appeared in the 1960s) and submarine-based missile delivery systems; two concepts that were researched to a further degree in American labs and would later play a key roll countering the Soviet threat during the Cold War.
